Planning approval for an Apart-Hotel development on Leith Walk in Edinburgh

Last month, we received planning approval for our Apart-Hotel development on Leith Walk in Edinburgh.

This project represents an exciting opportunity to revitalise an underutilised back-land site, which is currently occupied by a redundant single-storey warehouse.

Our proposal will transform the plot into a thoughtfully designed 3 storey Apart-Hotel, responding directly to the city’s increasing need for high-quality, purpose-built tourist accommodation in central and well-connected locations.

Throughout the design process, we placed importance on delivering a building that respects the character and amenity of the surrounding residential neighbourhood.

The massing, scale, and architectural approach have been carefully developed to complement Leith Walk’s mixed-use environment, ensuring the building contributes positively to its context while unlocking the site’s potential.

Beyond meeting accommodation demand, the project will also deliver wider economic benefits, including employment opportunities associated with the operation and servicing of the hotel, alongside increased visitor spending that will support local businesses.

We believe the innovative redevelopment of this site will bring renewed activity, vibrancy, and value to the area.

We’re excited to move into the next stages and look forward to sharing more updates as the project progresses.

P.S. None of this would have been possible without the creativity and hard work of our Associate Directors, Mark White and Mark Donaghy, and our Architect, Matthew Thomson, who are bringing these ideas to life so beautifully.
