Nanny Cay Breaks Ground on Major Marina Expansion

We’re proud to mark a major milestone with our clients at Nanny Cay as the official groundbreaking of the new South Marina expansion took place at the end of October this year.

At the core of the Masterplan’s concept is a long sinuous covered walkway which will act to connect the existing Inner and Outer Marinas.

In order to support the 112-Slip Marina designed for next generation catamarans, the masterplan consists of a Retail Village, an Events Space and Corporate facility for the BVI Spring Regatta, Marine Hub with Sailing Club & Teaching Facilities, centrally located Concierge facilities and a Restaurant Village with Mezzanine level Steak House and Cocktail Bar boasting panoramic views of the Marina and across the Sir Francis Drake Channel.

British Virgin Islands Premier, Dr. The Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley commented: "We gather not only to break ground on the expansion here at Nanny Cay, but to mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the story of the Virgin Islands.

This marina expansion represents the first of three phases in a broader reimagining of the Nanny Cay Resort and Marina.

It’s more than a construction project, it’s a declaration of confidence in our economy, our people and in the Virgin Islands as a premier destination for tourism, maritime excellence and sustainable growth."

With government approval now in place we move towards the preparation of the construction information for the masterplan with the intention to start works on site early in 2026.

Together, these enhancements will help elevate Nanny Cay into a prime marine facility, complete with upgraded boatyard facilities, expanded amenities, and new community spaces, while ensuring Nanny Cay remains competitive, resilient, and ready for the future.

Having worked with our clients Nanny Cay Marina for over ten years and for nearly three years developing this specific project, we are incredibly proud of this milestone achievement and as this new chapter of the construction process begins for them we’re excited to guide them step by step through it.
